02 / FORECASTING & INVENTORY

Plan demand with more confidence.

Use historical sales and operational context to prepare for what comes next, while making uncertainty visible to the people doing the planning.

01

Make the planning decision clear

A forecast for next week’s replenishment is different from a forecast for next quarter’s staffing. We start with the time horizon, product or service level and decision the forecast needs to support.

02

Understand the history

Trends, seasonality, promotions, closures and unavailable stock can all affect recorded sales. We examine these factors and distinguish missing demand from genuinely low demand wherever the available evidence allows.

03

Compare models with a baseline

Complexity must earn its place. We compare candidate methods with simple historical or seasonal baselines, using time-based evaluation that reflects how forecasts would have been made in practice. Accuracy is assessed at the level that matters to your operations.

04

Use forecasts in daily work

Outputs can include demand projections, uncertainty ranges and a review process for exceptions. Connecting these to stock and supplier constraints can support order forecasting, but the final planning decision stays with your team.

05

What we need to get started

A discussion of your planning process and the availability of dated sales, product information and relevant events is enough for an initial conversation. Do not email confidential datasets before we have agreed a suitable way to share them.
